Geeni Camera Light Meanings

Generally, Geeni cameras have two LED light indicators, i.e., Red and Blue. The red blinking light means it is ready to connect to the internet, whereas the blue blinking light means that the camera has lost its internet connection.

Like other smart devices such as Ring, Blink, ADT, and others, Geeni cameras do have light indicators to indicate specific statuses and messages. The LED indicators light up to show that the Geeni camera is turned on, detect a motion, or determine if there’s a problem.

But do you know exactly what these colors and status lights mean? Or how can they help you troubleshoot Geeni cameras?

In this article, you will find all the answers to your questions on the meanings of Geeni camera light.

Why Is My Geeni Camera Blinking Red?

Why Is My Geeni Camera Blinking Red

Your Geeni camera is flashing a red light to show it is ready to connect to the internet. The Geeni camera also makes itself discoverable, so you can connect it with other Geeni devices using the Geeni APP.

Remember that most Geeni cameras still use a 2.4 GHz network connection, so ensure you have a 2.4 GHz band.

If you are using a 5GHz band, it’s entirely possible that your Geeni camera won’t discover or connect to that Wi-Fi connection.

I have been using Geeni LOOK Full HD 1080p Smart Wi-Fi Security Camera with Voice Control, which also requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. This camera has a flexible stem that can bend and be mounted at any angle, and you don’t need a hub for this.

Other features include Night Vision, a 2-way mic, and motion alerts, and you can also share access to family members and roommates.

Note: Sometimes, your Geeni camera can also blink red due to software issues or a corrupted camera. Go through our troubleshooting guide on “Geeni Camera Blinking Red – Complete Fix Guide.”

Why Is My Geeni Camera Blinking Blue?

Your Geeni camera is flashing a blue light because it has lost its internet connection and is trying to get connected to the internet.

The best feature I have noticed is that your Geeni camera will keep trying to reconnect to the Wi-Fi connection every 5 minutes in case it has lost its connection.

This is helpful when you are not at home and, for some reason, your network service has got into some technical problem. You don’t have to worry about reconnecting it manually.

In case of a slow or no connection, your Geeni camera stops recording the video and starts recording it again when the camera successfully connects to the internet.

However, if you also notice a red flashing light, there’s an issue with the network provider, and your Geeni camera can’t connect to the internet.

Geeni Camera Solid Red Light Always On

If your Geeni camera has a solid red light, it means that it is in pairing mode and looking for a Wi-Fi router for connection.

During this stage, your Geeni camera remains offline and doesn’t record anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the reset button on the Geeni camera?

The reset button is usually located on the back or the bottom of a Geeni camera.

Why won’t my Geeni camera go into pairing mode?

If your Geeni camera won’t go into pairing mode,

  • Make sure your camera is placed in a strong Wi-Fi signal zone.
  • Also, ensure your camera and mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Check whether you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password.

Can I view my Geeni camera away from home?

You can view and control your Geeni camera from anywhere with the Geeni App. You only need a stable internet connection to access the APP.

Can you use the Geeni camera on two phones?

You can use the Geeni camera on multiple phones, but only if the other user is registered in the Geeni App.
