Red Light on Eufy RoboVac: Why and How To Fix!

Generally, a red light on Eufy RoboVac indicates a low battery that can be easily fixed by putting your vacuum to the charging station. However, a red light can also mean that your Eufy RoboVac has a stuck wheel, side brush, front bumper, or a suction fan.

After I completed my research on iRobot vacuums, I bought three Eufy RoboVac models and started finding out the common problems and troubleshooting them. The most common problem I found was different red light patterns.

Through this article, I will be sharing information about different red light patterns on Eufy RoboVac vacuums, what they mean and how you can fix that easily at home.

Red Light On Eufy Vacuum Meaning

The red light on Eufy Robovac means that its battery is low and needs charging.

To resolve this issue, simply connect the vacuum to the docking station and allow it to charge until the battery is full. Once charged, the red light disappears.

In some cases, a red light might mean other problems, such as a stuck wheel, side brush, suction fan, or front bumper.

But, What if my RoboVac beeps 4 or 5 times with a solid red light when on the charger?

If you hear 4 or 5 beeps along with a solid red light on your RoboVac during charging, the issue typically lies with the battery and it may require replacement.

The nature of the problem depends on the number of beeps and the behavior of the red light – whether it’s flashing or solid.

This feature helps you easily identify and troubleshoot issues with your vacuum, ensuring optimal performance and convenience.

Two Beeps

If your Eufy RoboVac’s bumper is stuck, you’ll hear two beeps and a flashing red light.

Three Beeps

If your RoboVac displays a flashing red light and sounds three beeps, there could be two possible reasons.

  • It might be stuck and unable to resume operation.
  • If the vacuum isn’t stuck, the issue may be dirty drop sensors.

Four Beeps

If you hear four beeps and see a flashing red light on your RoboVac, it means the battery is too low to operate the vacuum.

How To Troubleshoot And Fix Red Light on Eufy Robovac? The Solutions

Fix Red Light on Eufy Robovac

Charge Your RoboVac’s Battery

The most common cause of Eufy Robovac’s red light is low battery power. RoboVac automatically goes back to the charging station to recharge itself when the battery is low. I have noticed several red light flashes when it was on its way back to the dock.

To resolve this problem, simply connect the device to the charging dock and let it charge until the battery is fully charged. Once the charging is complete, you’ll notice that the red light has gone out.

Follow these steps to fix the low battery issue:

  • Connect your Eufy RoboVac to the charging dock.
  • Let it charge until the battery is fully charged.
  • The red will automatically go away once the vacuum battery is full.

Clear Obstructions Inside RoboVac

Generally, dirt and debris build up in the components of RoboVac such as brush roll, wheels etc. They can obstruct the vacuum parts causing the Eufy RoboVac red light.

Remove obstructions from the device parts like brush roll and wheels and then restart your vacuum to resolve the problem.

Also, look for any other obstructions in your RoboVac’s cleaning path and remove them.

Clean Dirty Sensors

Like other Robot vacuums, the Eufy RoboVacs do have sensors that help them detect any hindrance or obstruction like stairs, furniture etc.

But, when sensors are dirty, they can’t work properly and therefore, red light will come up on your vacuum.

So, wipe them regularly with a gentle cloth or cotton swab.

Lower The Temperature Of The RoboVac

If your Eufy RoboVac is working for a long time, it might get overheated leading to a red light on it.

Even, if you are using the device in a warm environment, it will overheat quickly.

To resolve this issue, turn off your device and allow it to cool down. Additionally, you should consider reducing the frequency or length of cleaning sessions to prevent your device from overworking.

Check And Remove Faulty Charging Cable

A bad charger can cause a red light on your RoboVac. So, try using another charging cable or power outlet and check if it solves the problem.

If your device charges normally, replace the faulty charger with a new one. This small change could be the perfect fix to get your device working smoothly again.

Why Is My Eufy Vacuum Has A Red Light When Charging?

If your Eufy RoboVac has a red light while charging, you should:

  1. Reconnect the RoboVac adapter to the charging base and check if the white power indicator on the charging base lights up, this ensures proper charging and power connection.
  2. Ensure proper connection of the charging pins by allowing the RoboVac to dock on its own. This will help in maintaining optimum charging and performance.
  3. Let your RoboVac charge for more than 6 hours and check if the orange light turned solid blue.
  4. If your RobboVac is more than one year old, you should replace your old battery. A replacement battery usually solves this problem.
  5. If your RoboVac is still showing a red light, you should get in touch with Eufy customer support.

What If My RoboVac Stops In The Middle Of Cleaning With Four Beep Error?

If your RoboVac is stopping in the middle of cleaning with a red light and four beeps, confirm whether it’s a red flashing light or a red solid light first.

If the Eufy robot vacuum stops with a four-beep error and flashing red light, it means the RoboVac battery is low.

Here’s how you can fix this:

  • Re-connect the charging base and adapter and check for the white power indicator on the charging base.
  • Use a dry clean cloth to clean the pins on the charging base and on the bottom of the vacuum.
  • Put your RoboVac, within 6 feet, in front of the charging base, and then press the return-to-home button and see if it docks on its own. If it returns, your RoboVac’s charging pins are connected properly.
  • Allow the RoboVac to charge for 6+ hours. While charging, you will see a flashing orange light, which will change to a solid blue light when fully charged.

When your RoboVac stops with a four-beep error and a solid red light, it means a stuck rolling brush.

You can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

  • Remove and clean the rolling brush and side brushes thoroughly, paying particular attention to the two ends of the rolling brush and the connectors on the vacuum.
  • Make sure to charge the RoboVac for at least 6+ hours until you see a solid blue light.
  • Remove the brush guard and rolling brush, then run the vacuum on hard floors without these parts.
  • Check if the error persists while the vacuum operates without these components.

Generally, these steps resolve the issue, however, if it is still there, contact Eufy customer support for further investigation of the problem.

FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)

Does Eufy know when to stop?

Eufy RoboVac models do not feature a dust collector status sensor. This means that even when the dust collector is full, RoboVac will keep working diligently without sounding an alarm.

The Eufy RoboVac is sure to keep your home spotless without you having to worry about tending to it every now and then. It’s like having a trusty housekeeper that never takes a day off!

But always remember to empty your RoboVac at regular intervals or if you have a big house empty it every day after its cleaning session is completed.

Do you need mapping on a RoboVac?

Mapping is actually quite beneficial, despite its seemingly unnecessary nature. With a floor plan, a robot can determine the most efficient cleaning path, which is why some robots seem to move randomly while others follow a straight line.

  • Always check for obstructions in the bumper and remove them to prevent the device from showing a red light.
  • Check your charger or power outlet if you see a red light and try using another one if needed.
  • If the above steps did not work, contact Eufy customer service for help as they might offer a new replacement vacuum free of cost if your vacuum is under warranty.
  • If the device stops with a four-beep error and flashing red light, it’s likely due to low battery while a solid red light indicates a stuck rolling brush.
  • Make sure to regularly empty the dust container or daily if you have a big house and turn on Mapping for more efficient cleaning paths.
  • Eufy RoboVac models don’t feature a dust collector status sensor, so always remember to empty the container regularly.
